News coming through to AfricanFootball.com is that Malawian striker Richard Mbulu is on his way to Portugal to join Sporting Club de Esmortiz.
The Nyasa Times website has it that the Mafco FC forward has secured a rare opportunity to represent the Portuguese giants.
According to Mafco chairman, Captain Peter Ngoma, he said Mbulu would be expected to leave as soon as his visa is issued.
Ngoma is reported to have told the website that Malawi Defence Force would not stand in the player’s way being a soldier in Malawi and needs special clearance to serve in another country as a footballer.
“We cannot block his chances. The Malawi Defence Force top management will do everything possible to help him go to play professional football in Portugal because that’s his lifetime chance,” said Ngoma.

On the other hand, the payer's agent David Gulaimfa said he will release all the details once everything regarding the deal is settled.
“We will release details of the contract next week,” he said.
Mbulu has been in top form and made headlines after emerging as the top goal scorer in the Malawian Presidential Cup.
However, his omission in the Flames national team ahead of the 2017 CAF Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Swaziland last week shocked many in the football fraternity.
