Le Roy, who has been left off lightly over a transfer scandal while he was in charge of French club Strasbourg, has listed 49 players on a provisional squad for Gabon 2017.
Togo failed to qualify for the final rounds of the 2018 World Cup, but plan to use the FIFA friendly windows provided by the World Cup qualifiers to prepare for the AFCON.
The Hawks of Togo will begin their build-up to next year’s AFCON in Gabon with a friendly against Uganda on October 4 in Lome.
Incidentally, both teams clashed in a 2018 World Cup eliminator, which Uganda won.
In November, Togo will also train in Morocco with the possibility of playing another warm-up against the host country.
Togo plan to set up a training base with 26 players in either Senegal or Dubai two weeks before the AFCON.
Three players from this training camp will be dropped before the team fly out to Gabon.
