Rangers big target man Bobby Clement is the Nigeria league Player of Week 36 after his brace shot his club back on top of the table.

Rangers are now just 180 minutes away from being crowned champions for the first time since their last triumph in 1984.

The 23-year-old Clement, who has featured for Shooting Stars and Heartland, uses his imposing physique to great effect as an old-fashioned target man and he is armed with good aerial power.

He has justified the high expectations since his arrival from Heartland rather controversially.

Other contenders for this past week of action were Christopher Waziri, whose late goal has restored Wikki Tourists title hopes; Plateau United defender Kelechi John, whose sixth goal lifted them past Ikorodu United, and MFM FC star Ifeanyi Ifeanyi, who controlled the midfield for his relegation-threatened team to snatch a crucial draw at champions Enyimba.
