Premier League side Burnley are reportedly close to agreeing a deal to sign Benin international Stephane Sessegnon.
The 32-year-old, who has been plying his trade in England’s top flight for the past five years with Sunderland and West Bromwich Albion, is a free agent after being released by the Baggies at the end of May.
He is set to remain in the Premier League, with L’Equipe reporting that the attacker is close to agreeing a deal with Burnley.
Sessegnon looked set to join French Ligue 1 side Montpellier over the weekend, even passing a medical and agreeing a two-year deal, but he pulled out when he became aware of Burnley’s interest.
The Clarets are now in advanced negotiations with the player ahead of a likely move to Turf Moor.
