Kenya midfielder Victor Wanyama says Tottenham Hotspur are headed “somewhere good” after defeating Manchester City on Sunday.
Wanyama gave a superb, man-of-the-match performance as Spurs handed the Citizens their first defeat in the season.
Aleksandar Kolarov’s own goal and a Dele Alli strike saw the Londoners win 2-0 at White Hart Lane, a result which has pushed them up to second on the log and boosted their status as title contenders.
"We know we can beat any team. If we continue playing like this it can take us somewhere good, somewhere better than last season,” said Wanyama after the match.
The East African added, “We had to make sure that we kept a clean sheet, kept focus.
“It was tough but we always felt that we were strong and we knew we could get something.”
Wanyama’s display saw him record an 84 percent pass accuracy, six tackles, two clearances, one interception and cover a distance of 12.32 kilometres
