Nigeria premier league club Akwa United have sacked Belgian coach Maurice Cooreman and the rest of the coaching staff and are now in the market for a new coach.
“I have received my sack letter, so also the other coaches,” disclosed former Nigeria U20 goalkeeper Mike Ekpenyong.
Cooreman has endured at turbulent time at ‘The Promise Keepers’ after his sensational switch from Ikorodu United the previous season.
He was suspended and later re-instated to the club.
His previous clubs include Enyimba, Kaduna United, Ocean Boys and Gombe United.
Akwa United, who crashed out in the early rounds of this year's CAF Confederation Cup, finished a disappointing 14th
this past season.
