Top officials have announced Enugu State Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi will Tuesday host Nigeria champions Rangers at the National Orthopedic Hospital in Enugu, where injured striker Ifeanyi Egwim is fast recovering.
Enugu sports commissioner Charles Ndukwe confirmed Governor Ugwuanyi is staging the reception to honour Egwim, who broke his leg during Rangers final day match at home against El Kanemi Warriors.
The Governor has already donated a million Naira to Egwim when he visited the player in hospital.
Ndukwe further said the Governor will at this event announce the reward for the team after they clinched the Nigeria league after a 32-year wait.
Speculations are rife that both players and officials will be rewarded with plots of land and cars for the feat they have achieved.
Rangers will represent Nigeria in next year’s CAF Champions League, along with runners-up Rivers United.
