Nigerian striker Fanendo Adi has become only the third player to score 16 goals or more in consecutive Major League Soccer (MLS) seasons before turning 27.
The big striker scored the only goal to earn his team 1-0 win over Colorado Rapids on Sunday to take his goal in the MLS this season to 16.
With this goal, he joins Stern John and Jaime Moreno, who have reached this milestone before their 27th
Adi is also now the tied with third most goal in MLS this season with Sporting Kansas City forward Dom Dwyer and Toronto FC forward Sebastian Giovinco.
Adi's 18 goals in all competition this season ties the Timbers’ all-era record for the most goals scored in a single season across all competitions, becoming the first player to score 18 goals in two different seasons for Portland.
Also, Adi scored 13 goals at home in the regular season, trailing only New York Red Bulls forward Bradley Wright-Phillips (14) for home goals scored.
Adi has also scored in five consecutive home matches.
