Kano Pillars first won the Nigeria league in 2008

One-time Kano FA secretary Tukur Babangida has returned as chairman of Nigeria premier league club Kano Pillars.
According to director-general media and communications, Government House, Salihu Tanko Yakasai, Babangida will lead six other management board members - Musa Garba Yakasai, Faruk Sani Haladu, Tijjani Sale Minjibir, Sani Lawan, Murtala Alasan Zainawa and Yahaya Idris 'Minister'.
The vastly experienced Babangida takes over from Kabiru Baita, who was sacked yesterday.
The former management board has been ordered to hand over with immediate effect.
Under Babangida, Pillars won the Nigeria league for the first time in 2008 and the club reached the semi-finals of the 2009 CAF Champions League on their debut.
