Nigeria skipper Mikel Obi has again been shut out by Chelsea for this afternoon’s home game against Manchester United, while compatriot Victor Moses starts his third straight game for the London club.
This is Chelsea’s ninth league game of the season and Mikel has yet to make a match day squad to further heighten speculations about his future at ‘The Blues’.
Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr has been particular about his players playing regularly for their clubs and it is now left to be seen how long he will continue to make Mikel an exception to his golden rule.
But while Mikel has fallen out of favour, Victor Moses is flourishing at the Stamford Bridge.
He again starts at his new right wingback position.
He was man of the match when he first played this role and he followed that up with a goal in his second start.
