Nigeria defender Gbenga Arokoyo has debuted for his Major League Soccer (MLS) side Portland Timbers in a 4-1 trouncing at Vancouver Whitecaps.
Portland Timbers thus missed the chance to get into the playoff as they finished seventh in the regular MLS season with 44 points.
The former Gaziantepspor of Turkey player was a 67th minute substitute for Jermaine Taylor on Sunday.
Arokoyo was happy to debut as he looks forward to a better season next year.
"Although the results didn't go our way but we look up to give you something better next year,#mydebut#greaterdaysahead#stayfocus#gotimbers#" Arokoyo wrote on his Facebook page.
Compatriot and Portland hitman Fanendo Adi was cautioned in the game in the 37th minute.
