Former Egyptian international Ahmed ‘Mido’ Hossam was on Monday unveiled as coach of Wadi Degla.

Mido replaces French coach Patrice Carteron, who took charge of the team in January but was recently dismissed from his post – supposedly due to financial issues.

Degla are currently ninth in the Egyptian Premier League table with 11 points from eight games.

Mido, who was working as a television pundit prior to being appointed to Wadi Degla, started his coaching career with Zamalek in 2014 and led them to the Egyptian Cup, before moving to Ismaily.

He also had a second stint at the White Knights starting last December, replacing Brazilian coach Marcos Paqueta.
