Tunisia kept their perfect start to the 2018 FIFA World Cup group stage qualifiers intact, beating Libya 1-0 at the Omar Hamadi Stadium in Algiers on Friday evening.
Wahbi Khazri scored the only goal of the game as the Carthage Eagles move top of Group A, with the Democratic Republic of Congo and Guinea to meet in Conakry on Sunday.
Following a rather uneventful first half, the only goal of the game coincided with Ali Salama receiving his marching orders for a second bookable offence in the 50th minute of the match.
Sunderland midfielder, Khazri, duly stepped up - slotting home past Muhammad Nashnoush who had guessed the right way.
Despite being a man down, the Mediterranean Knights still showcased a lot of fight and desire with Tunisia eventually holding on for all three points.
The clash took place in neighbouring Algeria due to the on-going political turmoil within Libya. The same problem that has barred the national team from playing in Tripoli for the past four years.
