Former Nigeria U20 star Solomon Okpako has said he has negotiated a transfer to Rivers United after his last club Warri Wolves were relegated.

“I have negotiated with Rivers United ahead of the 2017 season,” said the midfielder.

“But I am still hopeful to travel out any moment from now.”

Okpako has already had stints in Greece and South Africa before he returned last season to team up with Warri Wolves.

“The league I left 2010 has improved tremendously in terms of play, officiating and above all the rate at which club picked away points and win is quite impressive,” said the former Kano Pillars star.

“I am so glad that the league is coming up.”

Okpako captained Nigeria to win the sub-regional WAFU Cup in 2008 with Ahmed Musa and Gbolahan Salami part of the team.
