Granada CF midfielder Uche Agbo celebrated his 21st birthday today, but he said his team’s first win in La Liga and Nigeria’s triumph at the women’s AFCON in Cameroon were also reasons for a big party.
Agbo clocked 21 today, just a day after Granada recorded their first win of La Liga this season courtesy of a 2-1 home against Sevilla.
The midfielder, who has represented Nigeria at U20 level and has been involved in the country’s last two World Cup squads, was also on the moon after the country’s team defied many odds to win an eighth women’s AFCON at the expense of hosts Cameroon on Saturday.
“It was really a day to celebrate for me,” said Agbo.
“Besides my birthday, my club won their first match of the season the previous day and the Super Falcons won in Cameroon.
“It was a truly special day for me to celebrate my birthday.”
