Maritzburg United will look to continue their good form in the Absa Premiership when they host Bidvest Wits at Harry Gwala Stadium on 20 December 2016, kick-off at 19h30.

Maritzburg are unbeaten in their last four league matches and held Platinum Stars 0-0 away on December 17.

The KwaZulu-Natal side has claimed seven points from as many home matches this season.

The Team of Choice is placed eighth on the Absa Premiership log with 18 points from 14 matches.

Wits returned to winning form in the league when they defeated Free State Stars 3-1 at home on December 17.

The Johannesburg side has claimed 14 points from seven away matches this season.

The Clever Boys are placed second on the Absa Premiership log with 24 points from 12 matches.

In head-to-head stats, Wits and Maritzburg have met in 18 league matches since 2006/07.

The Clever Boys have nine wins compared to three for the Team of Choice, while six matches have been drawn.

Maritzburg have won one of their nine home matches against Wits, suffering four defeats in the process.

Last season the Clever Boys completed a league ‘double’ over the Team of Choice winning 2-0 in Johannesburg and 2-1 in Pietermaritzburg.

Wits have won seven of the teams’ last eight league meetings.
