Rangers may have raised several red flags for Chisom Egbuchulam to join Etoile du Sahel, but the star striker has fallen in love with the Tunisian champions and will very much wish to sign for them.
It appears transfer negotiations between Rangers and Etoile have broken down after the Nigeria champions claimed their Tunisian counterparts were trying to poach the player and that they never gave their blessing for him to fly out to Tunisia.
However, the player himself is eager to play for Etoile because he has been offered a very financially rewarding deal, which could also be a springboard to a move to a bigger club and a bigger league.
“Chisom wants to play for Etoile,” said a source who is familiar with the entire negotiations.
“They have offered him a very lucrative three and half year deal and at 24 he knows he has to make the move outside Nigeria now.”
The Tunisians are expected to reopen transfer discussions later this month as they are not deterred in their pursuit of the star forward, who fired 16 goals last season as Rangers won the Nigeria league.
