After a training session on Tuesday morning Ugandan Captain Geoffrey Massa says he is fighting fit and ready to find the back of the net at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.

Massa has not been in the best of form of later for his club side Baroka FC in South Africa – he is yet to find the back of the net for his team and sees his side occupying the bottom of the PSL.

Many critics have also suggested that the striker is not fit, but he dispelled these rumours following the training session on Tuesday.

“It's all fine...I had a problem with my ankle after the Free State game that's why I started on the bench the last two games but I am now okay now and looking forward to Afcon,” said Massa.

Meanwhile, Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Denis Onyango was part of the training sessions despite also arriving in the country at the start of the week.

The shot-stopper is believed to be carrying a minor hamstring problem but is expected to travel with the team to Tunisia on Friday for the first of several warm up games.

Uganda are in Group D at Afcon 2017 with Egypt, Ghana and Mali. This will be Uganda’s first appearance at the Afcon tournament in 39 years.
