Slovan Liberec winger Ubong Moses Ekpai has said he is excited to feature this season in the UEFA Europa League, a competition he followed on television while he was playing in the Nigeria league.
Czech club Liberec finished bottom of the group phase of the Europa League for the 2016/17 season.
"We played the Europa League and I am so excited that I have now played in a tournament I used to watch when I was playing in the NPFL,” said the 21-year-old forward.
The forward, who is on loan from Israeli club Maccabi Haifa, further revealed that his mother remains his source of inspiration.
"I give God the glory. My mum has been my source of inspiration, she inspires me to achieve more in my chosen career,” he said.
He spent the holiday by training with his former club Akwa United.
"I am in Nigeria for the Christmas break so I decided to train with my former team so as to remain fit and lively when I resume back with my club,” offered the former Kano Pillars star.
