Uganda suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of fellow 2017 Africa Cup of Nations participants Tunisia in a friendly in Tunis on Wednesday.

The North Africans dominated the match and scored their goals through Hamza Lahmar and Mohammed Ali Yaacoubi early in each half.

The Cranes – who are returning to the AFCON for the first time since 1978 – will face Ghana, Egypt and Mali in Group D at the tournament.

Tunisia, who won the title on home soil in 2004, will face Senegal, Algeria and Zimbabwe in Group B.

The Carthage Eagles will next face Egypt in another friendly on January 8, while Uganda have further warm-up games against Ivory Coast and Slovakia before they head to Gabon.
