South African club Bidvest Wits are set to assess Zimbabwean defender Peter Muduhwa next week according to reports.

Muduhwa, who currently plies his trade in the Zimbabwean Premier Soccer League (ZPSL) outfit Highlanders, had a great 2016 season with the club.

His agent Gibson Mahachi told Zimbabwean publication, Chronicle, that the player will be on trial at the Johannesburg-based side.

"Yes, it is true, Muduhwa is going to an assessment with Bidvest Wits for about a week," Mahachi said.

"The aim is to expose him to a different atmosphere where he will experience how other teams out of the country play.

"It's a good thing that he experiences international competition because he is still a young player with a bright future and still has a lot to learn," he continued.

"We took this opportunity to send him for this assessment because there are no games being played in South Africa."

Wits, who are competing for the Absa Premiership title this season, already have another Zimbabwean Knox Mutizwa on their books.
