Cameroon moved top of Group A following a 2-1 win over Guinea-Bissau in an exciting 2017 Africa Cup of Nations clash at the Stade de l'Amitié in the Gabonese city of Libreville on Wednesday evening.
Piqueti's solo effort looked to have set Djurtus on course for an unlikely victory, but the Indomitable Lions rallied in the final half-hour through goals from Sébastien Siani and Michael Ngadeu-Ngadjui to take control of their group.
The Indomitable Lions next face hosts Gabon with Guinea-Bissau taking on Burkina Faso at the same time on Sunday.
The African minnows opened the scoring as early as the 13th minute through Portugal-based Piqueti. Having picked up the ball from well within his half, the midfielder set about on a long-busting run which eventually resulted in a superb solo goal - his right-footed strike cannoning into the roof of the net.
Cameroon surged forward in search of the equaliser and should have been level at the break. Vincent Aboubakar, who returned from suspension for the clash, missing an absolute sitter two minutes before the interval.
Guinea-Bissau were unlucky not to go two goals up in the 54th minute with Ngadeu-Ngadjui producing a last-ditch clearance to deny Frédéric Mendy.
The four-time champions made good use of the slice of luck as they pulled level through Siani in the 61st minute. His powerful shot whistling past Jonas Mendes in the Guinea-Bissau goal.
Cameroon would seal all three points in the 78th minute. Ngadeu-Ngadjui with the low finish following good work by man-of-the-match Christian Bassogog.
