Premier League club Watford are asking several Chinese clubs for a fee of 25 million pounds for Nigeria striker, AfricanFootball.com can exclusively report.

And a last-minute deal could still be hammered even though the transfer deadline is now less than four days to deadline.

A top source informed AfricanFootball.com that this week Chinese Super League club Shanghai Shenhua, who have already made Carlos Tevez the highest earner in world football, tabled a 15 million pounds bid for the striker.

This was, however, far short of the 25 million pounds Watford want for the former Granada CF star.

Watford manager Walter Mazzarri himself confirmed at Friday evening press conference that the club have received a number of offers for Ighalo.

“There is more than one offer (for Ighalo) and it might be from China,” he disclosed while refusing to divulge more details.

Last year, Ighalo twice rejected "crazy money" to move to China.

Last week, the 27-year-old Ighalo was linked with a switch to another Premier League club West Bromwich Albion.

At a time, that move depended on West Brom selling Saido Berahino to Stoke City, which they have since done.

After netting 17 goals in all competitions last season, Ighalo has struggled in front of goal this term, managing on a goal in the Premier League.
