NPFL side Katsina United have accepted the resignation of head coach Bala Nikyu.
As a result of this decision, assistant coach Baldwin Bazauye will lead the team out against Niger Tornadoes on Sunday in Lokoja.
In a statement signed by club secretary Sani Tanau, ‘The Changi Boys’ praised the contributions of the coach and wished him the best in his future endeavor.
“Coach Bala Nikyu has worked tirelessly hard in the short time he was in charge of Katsina United and he equally received our full support to discharge his duties,” read the official statement in part.
“We sincerely appreciate his whole-hearted commitment as he gave Katsina United purpose and a sense of belonging in the NPFL.
“Katsina United therefore wish the coach the very best in his future endeavour.”
NNL champions Katsina United are back in the top flight after a 15-year absence.
They are ninth on the NPFL table with seven points from five matches.
