Nigeria U23 midfielder Ndifreke Effiong has returned from Norway and he could be one of five changes Abia Warriors coach Okey Emordi plans against visiting Gombe United this afternoon.

Ndifreke featured for the Umuahia side last term, going on to feature for the U23 Eagles in all their six games in the run up to a bronze medal finish in the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio, Brazil.

He was later to move to Norway soon after, but undisclosed contractual hitches ensured he returned to his fatherland and linked up with his former club Abia Warriors.

"I came back on Saturday last week", Ndifreke snapped at their concentration camp in Umuahia Saturday night ahead their fixture with Savannah Scorpions, Gombe United on Sunday.

Experienced tactician Emordi, we scooped, will make five changes from the squad that lost 2-1 to leaders Plateau United at the Rwang Pam Stadium in Jos last weekend in an NPFL matchday 5 clash.

"We've a crack squad here, such that any player who gets his chance but fails to take will have to wait for long to get another chance because another player will be given opportunity to impress", an official disclosed.

"Don't ask me who and who will be affected but take for instance, Ndifreke who returned last Saturday has done so well in training to get a place in the starting X1 against Gombe United", the official said.
