Rangers are off to Algeria

Nigerian champions Enugu Rangers will lead out Rivers United and Wikki Tourists for matches in CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup this weekend.

Rangers, who are billed to confront JS Saoura of Algeria in the first leg of the first round of the 2017 CAF Champions League will depart Lagos this morning for Algeria.

They will be airlifted by Air Maroc, according to the General Manager and Chief Executive Officer of the club, Christian Chukwu.

"We will travel out on Wednesday aboard Air Maroc. The match will hold on Friday in Constantine, Algiers", Chukwu informed.

Similarly, Rivers United, Nigeria's second representatives in the CAF Champions League, who will meet Real Bamako of Mali, will jet out on Thursday.

Wikki Tourists, playing in the CAF Confederation Cup, will face Royal Sierra Leonean Armed Forces, RSLAF of Sierra Leone.

The first leg match has been scheduled for Freetown on Saturday.

Officials of the Nigerian club informed they will travel out on Thursday aboard Air Cote d'Ivoire.

"We will be in Lagos on Wednesday and then travel on Thursday morning at 10.am aboard Air Cote d'Ivoire", said club spokesman Nasiru Ekobi.

However, FC Ifeanyiubah, the other team representing Nigeria in the CAF Confederation Cup, will host Al Masry of Egypt.
