Onyekuru scored the winner for Belgian club AS Eupen in a 1-0 win over Gent on Saturday.
The youngster was set to join Celtic last month after they tabled a million pounds bid for him, but his club preferred he joined Russian champions CSKA Moscow.
He was also wanted by several other top European clubs including Liverpool, Turkish giants Fenerbache, Nice in France as well as Hoffenheim in the German Bundesliga.
He then tried to force a transfer by going missing before it was later resolved that he could leave the club in the summer to any club of his choice.
The excited 19-year-old forward, who scored just a minute before the end of the game, said he is delighted to be back scoring goals.
"I am excited to be back scoring again despite all winter transfer logjam with Eupen,” he said.
"I will continue to give my best for the team."
He has now scored 11 goals in the league and two in cup games.
