South African Absa Premiership side Bidvest Wits have extended South Africa international Thulani Hlatshwayo's contract with the club.
The versatile defender, who also serves as the Bafana Bafana captain, has extended his Wits contract with the Johannesburg club until 30 June 2019.
Wits chief executive officer Jose Ferreira, stated that he's confident that Hlatshwayo, who is also the Clever Boys club captain, will become another legend of South African football.
“I am delighted that Tyson has committed his immediate future to the club. As club captain, Tyson has all the credentials and qualities that all our young players aspire to. I have no doubt that he will become another legend of South African football," Ferreira told the Wits official website.
Hlatshwayo, who is 27, stated that he's pleased to have signed as new deal with the Clever Boys, who are challenging for this season's Absa Premiership title, when speaking to the site.
“I’m very proud and happy to have extended my stay with Bidvest Wits. I feel very privileged with the faith they have showed in me and I believe we will grow together from strength to strength," he said.
"I have grown as a player at this club under coach Gavin Hunt and I am looking forward to a successful future with my club.”
