Egypt head coach Moatamed Gamal says their aim was to held onto their slender lead against Guinea in Lusaka, Zambia on Wednesday afternoon.

The Young National Elephants came back to hold the Young Pharaohs to a 1-1 draw in the 2017 Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Group A game.

"It was a tough match for my players," Gamal told CAF Media after the entertaining game.

Egypt took the lead through Mostafa Abdallah in the first-half, but Yamoudou Traore scored late for Guinea to ensure that the game ended in a draw.

"Our target was to hold on to the goal, unfortunately the equalizer came late. We may make some changes in the next match (against Zambia)," he said.

"We don’t have an option but to win against Zambia in our last match. We will play to win against the host country."

Egypt are scheduled to take on the tournament hosts, Zambia, in the final Group A game on Saturday.
