Cape Town City’s strong form in the Absa Premiership will be put to the test by Mamelodi Sundowns when the teams meet at Cape Town Stadium on 3 March 2017, kick-off at 20h00.

City claimed a third win from four league matches in 2017 when they defeated Baroka FC 3-0 away on February 26.

The Cape Town side has claimed 17 points from nine home matches this season.

The Citizens are placed second on the Absa Premiership log with 35 points from 19 matches.

Sundowns extended their unbeaten run in the league to eight matches with a goalless draw at home to Chippa United on March 1.

The Tshwane side has claimed 14 points from seven away matches this season.

The Brazilians are placed fifth on the Absa Premiership log with 33 points from 15 matches.

In head-to-head stats, City and Sundowns have met in just one previous top flight match.

That encounter took place earlier this season and saw the Citizens claim a 2-1 away win in Tshwane.

City’s line-up from their 3-0 win over Baroka: Walters, Edmilson, Mokeke, Gumede, Mkhize, Matsi, Putsche, Maynama (Mashikinya 74'), Ngoma (Jayiya 79'), Masina, Majoro (Koapeng 80').

Sundowns’ line-up from their 0-0 draw with Chippa: Sandilands, S. Zwane, Morena, Hachi, Soumahoro, Nascimento, Kekana, Mohomi, Zakri (Modise 75’), T. Zwane (Castro 75’), Vilakazi (Mbekile 76’).
