Kaizer Chiefs central defensive midfielder Willard Katsande has signed an improved deal at the South African Absa Premiership club.
The Zimbabwean hard-man's previous contract was due to expire at the end of the current campaign, but Chiefs have since extended his stay at the club.
Amakhosi released the following statement on their official website on Monday.
"Midfielder Willard Katsande has put pen to paper to confirm his stay at Naturena for another three seasons.
"The Zimbabwe International’s signature comes amidst much speculation about his future.
"Katsande’s new deal will run from 1 July 2017 until 30 June 2020. The hard-tackling midfielder possesses a South African permanent residence status.
"Katsande joined Kaizer Chiefs from Ajax Cape Town in 2011. And, despite being a true team player, the midfielder won several individual awards since joining the Glamour Boys, including being selected as Kaizer Chiefs’ best player for the 2013/2014 and 2015/2016 seasons.
"Katsande has already won a variety of trophies with Amakhosi: Absa Premiership (twice), Nedbank Cup and MTN8."
