Senegal midfielder Krepin Diatta is pleased to have fired his nation into the 2017 Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) semi-finals.
The talented player, who scored three into the second-half, helped the Young Lions of Teranga beat Cameroon 2-0 in their final Group B game on Sunday.
Diatta was deservedly voted Man of the Match for his impressive display and he stated that he owed the award to his team-mates.
"It was a difficult match for us. Victory was the result we wanted and we worked for it," Diatta told CAF Media.
"And the victory has taken us to the level we were expecting (semi-finals). I commend my teammates for the support and I owe this award to them.
"Special thanks also goes to the Senegal Football Federation led by its President, Augustin Senghor, for the support which has pushed the team to this level," he added.
The Young Lions of Teranga finished top of Group B and they will now take on Guinea in a semi-final clash in Ndola, Zambia on Thursday.
2017 U20 AFCON semi-finalists Senegal, Guinea, Zambia as well as South Africa will all represent Africa at this year's FIFA U20 World Cup in South Korea.
