Egyptian giants Zamalek are set to face Nigerian side, Eugu Rangers in the CAF Champions League and midfielder Aguda Godwin is not scared of the White Knights.

Speaking to KingFut.com, the midfielder believes his side can beat Zamalek in the first round of the club continental tournament, saying it’s possible to avoid defeat in Egypt.

The Nigerian side will travel to Egypt to face the 2016 Champions League runners-up on March 12 before hosting the White Knights a week later.

Rangers reached this stage of the round of 32 on aggregate after drawing 1-1 against Algeria’s JS Saoura away from home, then drawing 0-0 in Nigeria.

MARK HUGHES: WE CAN’T PUSH RAMADAN SOBHI TOO HARD

“I do not believe Zamalek is too strong for us. We will go to Egypt looking to at least get a draw as that will give us something to build on ahead of the return leg in Enugu,” Godwin told Supersport.

“We believe in ourselves and know it is possible to avoid defeat in Egypt.”

The Nigerian Champions are currently 16th in the league with 12 points from 10 matches, and will hope to find their form against Zamalek next week.

Meanwhile, this will be Rangers’ 10th Champions League appearance as their last one came in 2013.

They have never won the trophy before despite reaching the final in 1975, when they lost the title to Guinea’s Hafia FC.
