Zambia coach Beston Chambeshi has praised his charges following their victory over South Africa in the 2017 Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) semi-finals on Wednesday night.

Edward Chilufya scored in extra-time to hand the Young Chipolopolo a 1-0 win over Amajita at the National Heroes Stadium in Zambia's capital city, Lusaka.

The Young Chipolopolo went into this encounter as the favourites having defeated Amajita in the 2016 U20 COSAFA Cup final and an international friendly earlier this year.

"South Africa caused us a lot of problems," Chambeshi told CAF Media.

"They had a very good defensive organization that prevented us from developing our attacks.

"Congratulations to them but I also say bravo to my players who did not give up and wanted to score to qualify before penalties," he continued.

"It was a very good match and either team could have won. For the final, we have no preference whatever the opponent we will play to win it."

The Young Chipolopolo will now lock horns with the winner between Guinea and Senegal, who will face off in a semi-final clash on Thursday, in the final on Sunday.
