AfricanFootball wraps up Saturday’s CAF Confederation Cup action, which saw seven first round, first leg matches played across the continent.

Tunisia’s CS Sfaxien, who are the most successful side in Confed Cup history, have all but secured progression into the second round thanks to a 5-0 home win over Cameroon’s Yong Sports Academy. Karim Aouadhi and Walliou Ndoye each netted a brace in the comprehensive win.

Platinum Stars have been in fine form in domestic football in South Africa, and they will need to produce something special when they host Uganda’s Vipers SC next weekend after going down 1-0 in Kampala.

Sanga Balende, AS Kaloum and Onze Createurs also claimed 1-0 home wins over Al Hilal Ubayyid, IR Tanger and Rayon Sport respectively, while Zimbabwe’s Ngezi Platinum Stars claimed a valuable away goal (the only one of the day) in a 2-1 loss at Angola’s Recreativo do Libolo.

The only draw was a goalless stalemate between Etoile du Congo and Algeria’s JS Kabylie in Brazzaville.

The first round, first leg fixtures will be wrapped up with six further matches played across the continent on Sunday.
