Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Percy Tau has praised his teammate Anthony Laffor following their 2017 CAF Champions League encounter.

Liberia international Laffor grabbed a late equalizer for Masandawana with 10 minutes left on the clock against Uganda's KCCA on Saturday.

As a result defending champions Sundowns advanced to this year's group stages having won the tie 3-2 on aggregate.

“He is a big player. Big players play well in big games, seize the moment and score,” Tau told the club's official website.

“We fought hard as a team, and we knew that if we played our football we will score.

"We knew we would get at least one. We are after all African champions and just needed to believe in ourselves," he added.

"When they scored, we knew it was going to be even harder, but we kept to our game plan, played football, and the goal came."
