Guinea-Bissau coach Baciro Cande was impressed by the current South Africa squad following their international friendly match last weekend.
The African Wild Dogs were beaten 3-1 by Bafana Bafana at the iconic Moses Mabhida Stadium in the city of Durban on Saturday.
Cande believes that the youthful South African side can go on to emulate Bafana legend Benedict 'Benni' McCarthy, who had a successful career in Europe.
"I believe it's a young team and we can see the potential in it," Cande said on KickOff.com.
"When you look at them, you can see that they can go forward and reach the level of the time of Benni McCarthy, they have that potential."
Cande made history when he guided Guinea-Bissau to the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals. The African Wild Dogs made their debut appearance.
The 69-year-old tactician will now look to guide the African Wild Dogs to the 2019 AFCON finals. The qualifying campaign is scheduled to begin in June 2017.
