Ivorian-French players Maxwell Cornet and Seko Fofana have both committed their international future to the West African country.

Cornet, who is a winger with Olympique Lyon and was born in Ivory Coast, and Fofana, who was born in Paris and is a midfielder for Udinese, have both represented France at junior international level.

Both players met with Elephants manager Marc Wilmots on Monday in Paris and have agreed to represent the Ivory Coast in senior international football.

The Belgian manager is said to have played a major role in convincing the duo to switch their international allegiance.

Wilmots is expected to call up Cornet for the Elephants’ 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Guinea in early June.

Fofana is currently sidelined due to a fibular fracture and will have to wait for a later date for his first call-up.
