SuperSport United head coach Stuart Baxter has indicated that he will rest his key players when they face Liberian side Barrack Young Controllers on Sunday.

South African Absa Premiership side SuperSport will take on Controllers in the CAF Confederation Cup play-off round first-leg clash in Monrovia.

Matsatsantsa are heading into the encounter having defeated KwaDukuza United in the Nedbank Cup 2-0 in the Nedbank Cup clash in midweek.

"We are going to rotate the team again. You can't have players coming off one game against Baroka [this past weekend] and playing [on Tuesday]," Baxter said on

"Then travelling 16 hours to Liberia and then coming back and playing [Mamelodi) Sundowns on April 13], you can't have the same players playing [all those games].

"So, we'll try and freshen it up and we left a few players out [against KwaDukuza] and I didn't really want to play Dean [Furman] but I had to," he added.

"I had to tidy it up, especially when we were 10 men. So we'll recuperate some of the players and they'll go to Liberia and we'll give it a shot.

"We’re hoping to come back with a useful result so that we can play our next game [the second-leg] in Pretoria."

The second-leg clash between SuperSport and Liberian Premier League side Controllers will be played in South Africa next weekend.
