The chance to play under Sam Allardyce was one of the major reasons Jeffrey Schlupp joined Crystal Palace.

Schlupp moved away from Leicester City in the January transfer window, with the chance to play more regularly and be managed by Allardyce convincing him to join the Eagles.

"Everyone was aware of what he achieved before he joined and was a key reason for me coming here," Schlupp told Palace’s official website.

"He sends us out onto the pitch with a game plan that we have been working on in training and our results prove that it is working.

"We do a lot out on the training pitch regarding our shape and he works with us as a defensive group and we have been doing a lot of work on that."

Schlupp started Palace’s 3-1 loss to Southampton in the Premier League last night and will hope to feature when they host Arsenal next Monday.
