JS Kabylie may face a tough task in trying to mount a comeback against TP Mazembe, but former Algerian international Moussa Saib has urged them not to give up hope of progressing in the CAF Confederation Cup.
The first leg of their playoff tie in Lubumbashi last weekend saw the DR Congo giants claim a 2-0 home win to put them in control of the tie and well on course to qualify for the competition’s group phase.
The return leg in Tizi Ouzou this weekend sees JSK looking to make the most of home advantage and try to overturn the deficit against the Confed Cup’s reigning champions.
Former JSK player and coach Moussa Saib reckons the Algerians face an uphill battle, but has urged them not to give up hope.
"Losing on a score of two goals to zero makes the mission difficult for the return match. They’re not an [ordinary] opponent. It is TP Mazembe, who are the title holders,” Saib told Le Buteur.
“There is still a return leg that will be played in Tizi, we must recover, because in my opinion, The players must not abandon the race for the qualification.”
The aggregate winners of the tie will join 15 other teams in the group stage, which will be played from May to July.
