There is no reason Leicester City cannot earn their way back into the UEFA Champions League, according to Tunisian defender Yohan Benalouane.
The French-born centre-back was in the Foxes team which was eliminated in the Champions League quarterfinals by Atletico Madrid on Tuesday night.
The English side performed above expectations on their debut in the continental tournament, progressing further in the competition than fellow Premier League sides Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Manchester City.
And although their European adventure is over for this season, the Tunisian defender believes Leicester can return to the competition in the future.
"We have demonstrated both last year in the Premier League and in the cup of being a team of great value, with great potential,” he told TMW.
"Next season we will try to reach the Champions League again, getting to the top to redo this experience. We can never say never in life, why not believe it?"
Benalouane’s future at the King Power Stadium is uncertain and he gave nothing away in regards to his plans.
"I'm just thinking about the present, I'm really busy, my mister (Craig Shakespeare) is giving me confidence and I'm on the field. We'll see how the season ends, I'm fine here and I hope to grow a lot,” he added.
