Zambian U20 coach Beston Chambeshi has emphasised the importance of their preparations for the upcoming 2017 U20 FIFA World Cup in South Korea next month.

The Junior Chipolopolo are in camp and their preparations have hit high gear with Chambeshi warning that no players will be released from camp for Zambian Super League matches as the team was running out of time.

Chambeshi took 23 players through their paces at National Heroes Stadium this week and said only Zanaco players as well as foreign-based players have been excused from camp, but will join at a later stage.

“The only danger we have is them (players) being released to play for their teams (weekend),” he said to the FAZ Football website.

“From this week, we will not release any player because time is not with us. We will make sure each and every player is in camp.”

Meanwhile, the coach announced that Napsa Stars midfielder Enock Mwepu will join the squad later, adding that Zanaco striker Damiano Kola, Patrick Ngoma (Red Arrows) and Ngoza Sunzu (Hapoel Ra’anana) have impressed him.

He also excused Zanaco players Mangani Banda and Boyd Musonda to stay with their team in order to be part of preparations for the CAF Champions League campaign.

Chambeshi has summoned 30 players for the preparations for the FIFA U-20 World Cup Korea Republic 2017.

Austria-based Patson Daka, Mwape Mumba of Getafe and Fashion Sakala (Spartak Moscow) are expected to join the squad at a later stage.

The U20 African champions are in Group C alongside Portugal, Costa Rica and Iran and will be based on the Island of Jeju.
