Kenyan midfielder Victor Wanyama and his teammate Mousa Dembele need to bring more to Tottenham Hotspur’s game, according to pundit Tony Cascarino.
The former Republic of Ireland international believes the central midfield pair do not offer Spurs enough going forward.
Cascarino was speaking in the wake of Tottenham’s 4-2 loss to Chelsea in the semifinals of the FA Cup this past weekend.
He told The Times: "One area Spurs could improve would be central midfield. Both Victor Wanyama and Moussa Dembele have had excellent seasons but neither contributes with goals or dynamic play going forward.
"They also need some reinforcements in central defence, particularly if they are going to play three at the back. If the big teams are chasing the Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk, then Spurs must be too."
Wanyama has made 30 Premier League appearances this season and scored two goals, while Dembele’s respective numbers are 24 and one.
