Victor Wanyama has explained that Tottenham Hotspur have bigger goals than finishing above North London rivals Arsenal in the Premier League.

Following Spurs’ 2-0 win over the Gunners this past weekend, they are set to finish above their rivals in the league for the first time in 21 years.

While this gives Tottenham fans the bragging rights, Wanyama emphasises that they are aiming for bigger and better ambitions than merely outstripping Arsenal.

"I'm not surprised because we worked very hard and wanted to win so bad," Wanyama told Sky Sports News HQ, speaking at a Tottenham Foundation StubHub event.

"That's what happens when you want to win and you are at home. We had great support and were full of confidence."

The Kenyan added, "I think it is good but there are bigger things to look at.

"That is just us getting better and having a better season than last. Hopefully, we will be finishing strong and achieving a nice thing as well."
