Ivory Coast defender Eric Bailly returned to training on Wednesday, giving Manchester United a major boost ahead of their UEFA Europa League semifinal, first leg against Celta Vigo.

The Ivorian, who limped out of United’s 1-1 draw with Swansea on Sunday, took part in his first session since the match.

He was not the only notable returnee, with Paul Pogba, Chris Smalling and Phil Jones also making their way back from injury to appear in training.

Yet while Pogba is sure to start in the match in Vigo tonight, Smalling and Jones remain doubtful due to the longer time they have spent on the sidelines.

This means Bailly is set to partner Dutchman Daley Blind in the heart of defence.

Yet the Ivorian has also risked the wrath of manager Jose Mourinho following this post on social media:

The United boss has taken issue with leaks coming out of the team’s camp and has reportedly banned social media.
