Kenya will be eager to get their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign off to the perfect start when they travel to Sierra Leone in a Group F encounter this week.

Kick-off at the National Stadium in Freetown on Saturday is scheduled for 18h30 CAT.

The Harambee Stars last qualified for Africa's premier continental competition in 2004, crashing out at the group stages despite a 3-0 thumping of Burkina Faso.

That is something head coach Stanley Okumbi and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Victor Wanyama will be desperate to change, but paired in a group alongside Ethiopia and Ghana, it won't be easy.

The Leone Stars qualified for successive tournaments in 1994 and 1996, but haven't participated in an AFCON showpiece since - a run they will hope to bring to an end by booking their ticket to Cameroon.

Kenya occupy 74th place in the latest FIFA World Rankings, 39 places above 113th ranked Sierra Leone.
