Turkish giants Fenerbahce SK are close to signing Moroccan winger Nabil Dirar from AS Monaco.

The 31-year-old midfielder spent six seasons with Monaco and last season he made 18 league appearances - netting once in the process.

On Sunday, Dirar, who is expected to sign a three-year deal in Turkey, confirmed that he will be leaving Monaco.

"I am proud to have the chance to play in a big club like Fenerbahce," told fenerbahce.org.

"The stadium and facilities are very nice. I am very lucky to play in front of the big and enthusiastic Fenerbahce fans,"

"The matches I played against Fenerbahce with Monaco created serious memories on me," he added.

"The game we played here was an effect on my mix. We were very impressed with the stadium, fans, and atmosphere in that match. Since that day, there was Fenerbahce on one side of my mind."

He has also played in Belgium for Westerlo and Club Brugge.
