Reports coming from Zambia reveal that Nchanga Rangers assistant coach Elijah Tana has gone absent without official leave.

Tana has not reported for work for over a week and was not on the bench when Rangers lost 2-0 to Nkwazi in the Super Division on Sunday.

It is reported that the coach is second assistant, whilst Evans Sakala is coach Bruce Mwape’s right hand man.

According to the club's secretary Jim Chongo, he said the club is in the dark over the former Chipolopolo skipper’s whereabouts.

“He has not been with the team, there hasn’t been any official communication from him indicating that he will be out,” said Chongo to the Daily Mail.

“We are just hearing rumours that he is going to be an assistant coach to Zeddy Saileti at Lumwana Radiants, so we are still waiting to hear from him.”

On the other hand, reports indicate that Tana has since joined Radiants, but secretary Besa Kansumba has rubbished the claims.

“No, those are just the usual social media stories…as we speak, the team has travelled to Lusaka and he is not part of the team,” denied Kansumba.

“Our assistants are John Munkonje and Silos Simunyola, the head coach (Saileti) has not mentioned anything about an assistant for now as the main focus is our next game.” CLICK HERE TO VISIT AFRICAN FOOTBALL ZAMBIA
