Guinea star Naby Keita is a similar kind of player to Chelsea’s French midfield maestro N’Golo Kante, according to former Manchester United coach Rene Meulensteen.
Keita has been strongly linked with a move to Liverpool after enjoying superb 2016/17 season with Bundesliga side RB Leipzig.
And Meulensteen can understand Reds manager Jurgen Klopp’s admiration for the player, comparing Keita to Kante, who has won back-to-back Premier League titles with Leicester City and Chelsea in the past two campaigns.
"He does remind me of Kante,” Meulensteen told BBC Sport.
“He's got unbelievable energy, he's all over the place. He intercepts balls, he starts off attacks.
“He's dynamic, he goes forward, he's just an exciting player to watch that's only going to get better and better."
Liverpool have already broken their transfer fee record to bring Egyptian Mohamed Salah to Anfield, and they will have to so a second time if they are to tempt Leipzig to sell Keita.
